Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 April 2026
This policy explains how Wilson’s IT Support & Automation (“WITSA”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use TradesReply (the free reply tool and TradesReply Pro) in the United Kingdom. We’ve written it in plain English for busy tradespeople — if you want more detail on your rights, see the ICO website at ico.org.uk.
Who is responsible for your data?
WITSA is the data controller for TradesReply. We’re a UK-based business. Contact: wilsonsitandautomation@gmail.com.
What TradesReply is
Free tool: You can paste a customer enquiry and get draft replies in your browser. You don’t have to create an account. Optional settings (for example your name and area) may be stored only on your device using your browser’s local storage, so we don’t receive that information on our servers.
TradesReply Pro: A separate page lets you save a business profile and generate more tailored drafts. That profile is also stored locally on your device unless we introduce a sign-in or cloud feature later (we’ll update this policy if that changes).
Paid Pro: Pro is a subscription billed through Stripe (recurring until you cancel). We don’t store your full card details on TradesReply. Stripe’s privacy notice applies to how they handle payment data: see stripe.com/gb/privacy.
What we may process when you use the website
- Technical and security data: Like most websites, our hosting (for example Netlify) may log technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and pages viewed, to run the site securely and fix problems. This is typically short-term.
- Emails you send us: If you contact support, we keep your message and email address only as long as needed to reply and handle any follow-up.
- Payment data: Handled by Stripe as described above.
Cookies
TradesReply is designed to be lightweight. We don’t use advertising cookies. If our hosting or payment pages set essential cookies (for example security or checkout), those are managed by those providers under their policies.
Legal bases (UK GDPR)
Where we process personal data, we rely on:
- Legitimate interests — running and improving TradesReply, security, and support, balanced against your rights.
- Contract — where you buy Pro, to provide what you’ve paid for.
- Consent — where we ask for it (for example if we add optional marketing emails later).
How long we keep information
Support emails: kept only as long as needed for the conversation and any related issue. Server logs: typically short-term, as set by our host. Data stored only in your browser stays on your device until you clear it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can complain to the ICO — we’d appreciate the chance to help first via the email above.
Children
TradesReply is aimed at adults running trade businesses. It isn’t intended for children under 16.
Changes
We may update this policy when the service or the law changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change — please check back occasionally.
